Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988[1]) is a Canadian performer and actress. O'Neil was the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's season 3 finale, won it in 2005. O'Neil is well-known for her role in Syfy's sci-fi series Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was judged among the bottom two and three finals. The judges were shocked at this and advised viewers to vote for Melissa for her singing talents. From that point on, O'Neil never fell back to the bottom of the list after delivering consistently praised performances, with judge Zack Werner declaring that she was "a potential winner of the entire competition". O'Neil and Rex Goudie both made it to the top two spots of the show on September 7 in 2005. After another impressive performances, Werner declared that "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away Long live Queen". O'Neil defeated Goudie at the grand final results show on September 14, 2005 , to win the title of the third Canadian Idol.
